Chateau de Chinon and town of Chinon by Vienne river, Loire Valley, Indre-et-Loire, France. The chateau was founded in the 11th century by Theobald I, Count of Blois. King Henry II of England lived and died here in the 12th century and the chateau has been out of use since the late 16th century.
