Celadon roof end finial with punched decoration, Than Hoa, Vietnam, 13th-14th century. The exterior is modelled in high relief with rings of lotus petals under a crackled greenish glaze. The rim has a border of impressed circles picked out in brown and repeated around a finely carved spray of lotus on a stipled ground, all in the biscuit in the centre. The base shows the almost white porcellaneous ware. Other possible uses include a small bowl or a mortar for grinding.
