Basalt statue of the Pharaoh Menkaure, Cairo Museum, Egypt. Menkaure (Mycerinus) was a Pharaoh of the 4th dynasty of Ancient Egypt. He succeeded Khafre and ruled in the late 26th century BC. He was buried in the smallest of the three Pyramids of Giza. This statue shows Menkaure flanked by the goddesses Hathor (left) and Bat.
