A deacon of the Chudov Monastery, Monastery, Russia, c1900-c1905. The Chudov Monastery was founded in 1358 by Metropolitan Alexius of Moscow. Traditionally the site of baptisms of Russian royal children, it was closed by the Bolsheviks in 1918 and demolished in 1929. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
