Faults on Both Sides. 1861. A couple sit in silence next to their marital bed, unable to communicate after a row. The man bites the handle of his walking stick in frustration. The woman gazes stonily ahead and twists a handkerchief to control her anger. Oil paint on canvas, 673 x 552 mm. Acquisition Presented by Sir Henry Tate 1894 (N01526).
