Lucy, Countess of Carlisle, and Dorothy Percy's Visit to their Father Lord Percy, when under Attainder ... Exhibited 1831. The painting shows one of Egremont's ancestors, Henry Percy (seated) and his daughters Lucy (left) and Dorothy (right). They had obtained his release from the Tower of London, where he was imprisoned on suspicion of being involved in the Gunpowder Plot. Oil on oak panel, 400 x 692 mm. Acquisition Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856 (N00515).
