Nave of S. Giovanni in Laterano (Basilica of St. John Lateran), Rome. Pope Innocent X commissioned Francesco Borromini the redesign of the nave in 1646-49. The coffered ceiling dates from 1562, probably on a design by Pirro Ligorio.
