Section of the Sweet Track, a neolithic trackway, built of timber felled in 3806 BCE. It is named after the man who discovered and is the oldest prehistoric trackway found in Britain, constructed by farmers to cross marshy ground of the Somerset Levels. The whole track, two kilometres in length, could have been assembled in a single day from the pre-shaped units. Inv. 1986,1201.1-27.
