Buddhist Shwe-nandaw monastery, in Mandalay(19th century) was a one of the pavilion in the Royal palace of King Mindon and he died there; on the façade of this sculptured teak wood  monastery, numerous orants and buddhist divinities and, in the center, Thagyamin, the God Indra, holding the royal « fly wisk», the yak tail  fan. Dismantled and reconstructed after his death to be transformed into a monastery, it escaped the bombs that destroyed the palace during WWII.
