Peruzzi, Baldassare (1481-1536)
(and workshop): The Hall of Perspectives [Sala delle Prospettive]: The ample frieze with mythological scenes inspired by the Ovid's Metamorphoses. 1517-1518. Close-up of section with Procris impaled by the never erring javelin and Cephalus running towards her. On the left, Aurora and Titon on a chariot pulled by four horses. Aurora seems to be in some way responsible for the death of Procris, having caused her jealousy. In the backround, preceeding the cart, Venus, (Hesperus?) holding a star.
