Bowl of serpentine stone with gold lid. Made by Urban Schneeweiss (1536-1600), goldsmith. Germany, Saxony, 1572. The garnet-free serpentine stone is a rarity from Saxony. Engraved coat of arms of the Electors of Saxony on top of the lid, inside the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Denmark, thus referring to Elector Augustus and his Danish spouse Princess Anna.
