The Battle of Gaza with King Abdalonymos in the center. The 312 BCE battle in which the king was killed, marked the falling of Phoenicia under the rule of Ptolomee. High relief on the "Alexander Sarcophagus", from the Royal necropolis of Sidon. This Sarcophagus was created to host the remains of Abdalonymos, King of Sidon, probably by Cephisodotus the Younger, one of the sons of Praxiteles. Marble, Hellenistic, ca. 315-312 BCE.
