Winged bronze dragon at the corner of the Red Palace of the Potala in Lhasa, begun in 1645 by the 5th Dalai Lama. To obtain favours from the dragon and for protection against evil spirits pilgrims used to put money in his mouth. The Red Palace contains the tombs of the Dalai-Lamas.
