The inscription reads: To the divine spirit of the dead, Paulus, the soldier, cavalryman in the third legion of Italica Antoniniana. He lived for thirty-six years, served for sixteen years as a soldier. His heir Aurelius...concerned himself with the building of this grave. Marble bas-relief. Imperial Roman, 3rd century CE.
