Gravestone of the astronomer Theodotos, son of Menephron. The deceased is depicted lying on a couch, touching a globe with a stick. The sundial in the upper left indicates in knowledge of astronomy. The relief was prepared for the married couple,whose belongings are depicted on the shelf, but there is only name of the husband that died first. Marble bas-relief. Hellenistic, 2nd century BCE. Found in Beyazit, Istanbul.
