Central passageway with bas-relief depicting dragons, south stairway, Hall of Prayers for an Abundant Harvest (Qinian dian). Temple of Heaven (Tiantan), Beijing. The whole complex was built in 1420 under the emperor Yongle (Young Lo) and restored in 1530 and 1751. Here the emperor celebrated the sacrifice to Heaven for a good harvest. This decorated ramp between the two stairways was reserved for the emperor's palanquin.
