Palace of Heavenly Purity (Qian Qing Gong). Inner Court, Imperial Palace (Forbidden City), Beijing. This Palace was originally built in 1420 by emperor Yongle and was rebuilt in 1798 by emperor Jiaqing. Emperor Guangxu restored it in 1890. Ming and Qing emperors lived in this palace. It was also used to show the coffin of the dead emperor and to hold the box with the name of the new monarch.
