Hall of Union and Peace or Hall Celestial and Terrestrial Union (Jiao Tai Dian). Inner Court, Imperial Palace (Forbidden City), Beijing. This hall was built in 1522-66 and rebuilt in 1797. During the Qing Dynasty yearly ceremonies were held here for the empress' birthday, the lunar New Year and the Winter Solstice. The plaque above the throne written by emperor Kangxi reads: Doing Nothing.
