Painted plaques, Etruscan, c560-c550 BC. It seems to depict the Judgement of Paris. From left to right are shown Hermes, messenger of the gods, approaching Paris with his task, and then the three goddesses Athena, Hera and Aphrodite, from whom Paris had to choose the most beautiful. The four women facing to the right are probably attendants. These three plaques were part of five found in a tomb in the Banditaccia cemetery in 1874, named the Boccanera tomb after the two brothers who found them.
