Bronze Age 'base ring' juglets, Cyprus, 14th century BC. Earthenware juglets with handle and slip. The ‘base ring’ pottery style was found in Cyprus during the Late Cypriote period from about 1600 to 1050 BC. This type of vessel, which resembles an upside down poppy capsule, was used to transport opium to Egypt.
