The relief of Vienna in 1683. Turkish armies under Kara Mustapha Pasha had surrounded Vienna since July 14, 1683. Imperial armies, including Polish troops under King Jan III Sobieski and Bavarian troops under the Elector Max Emanuel delivered the city on September 12, 1683.
