Outer coffin of the priest Hor. From the tomb of Hor, probably at Deir el-Bahari, Thebes, Egypt, 25th Dynasty, about 680 BCE. During the Twenty-fifth Dynasty a new coffin shape replaced the outer anthropoid. The outer coffin of Hor is typical of this new type: rectangular, with a tall post at each corner, and a vaulted lid.  Painted wood, 91.5 x 204.5 x 76.2 cm. Inv. 15655.
