Museo de las Casas Reales, or Museum of the Royal Houses, in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. The museum was opened in 1973 to celebrate the history and culture of the Spanish inhabitants of the colony, and is housed in a 16th century colonial palace originally serving as governor's office and Audiencia Real or Royal Court.
