Sir John Mandeville on his Travels, 1430. After a work which appears in 'The Travels Of Sir John Mandeville'. The work presents itself as an account of China, India, and the Holy Land, written by an Englishman named Sir John Mandeville but who is in fact entirely fictitious. The identity of the true author is unknown, but it is likely that it was a mid-14th-century French cleric. Taken from 'A Book of Discovery', published by T. C. & E. C. Jack Ltd. 1912.
