Notice to passengers planning to make transatlantic journeys during World War I, 1915. Published by the Imperial German Embassy in Washington DC, the notice warns that anyone travelling on a ship flying the flag of Great Britain or her allies did so at their own risk. It was shown in the newspaper on 22 April 1915 adjacent to an advertisement for the return voyage of the liner 'Lusitania', which was subsequently was sunk by a German U-boat off the Irish coast on 1 May 1915.
