Statue of Serapis found near monumental gate at Petra, Ma'an, Jordan, from Petra Archaeological Museum. Serapis was a Graeco-Egyptian god and only the top part of this statue remains. He is depicted in oriental style with curly hair and beard. Petra was the capital and royal city of the Nabateans, Arabic desert nomads.
