Survivor of a terrible smash: Mr Sydney Pickles, the Caudron expert, 1913 (1934). Sydney Pickles (1894-1975) was an Australian aviator. He was chief test pilot for Short Brothers, the Blackburn Aeroplane Co, and the Fairey Aviation Co.
