Portrait of Francois-Rene de Chateaubriand, 1768-1848, and painted urn, in the Salon Vauban, originally the castle chapel but converted to a bedroom by the marquise de Valentinay, daughter of Vauban, in 1670, in the Chateau d'Usse, built 15th - 17th century in medieval and Renaissance style, in Rigny-Usse, Indre-et-Loire, France. An existing ruined castle was rebuilt from 1440s by Jean V de Breuil and later rebuilt by Charles d'Espinay. The chateau is owned by the duc de Blacas and is listed as a historic monument.
