Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, or the Kastello, a Gothic medieval castle built 14th century by the Knights Hospitaller, in the town of Rhodes, on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese islands in the Aegean Sea, Greece. The original building here was a 7th century Byzantine citadel, converted into a palace from 1309 as the headquarters of the Knights Hospitaller. The building was modified in the 15th, 16th and 20th centuries and is now a museum. Picture by Manuel Cohen
