The chateau is seen from a pond in the gardens, with sculptures of fish and a crown. The oval Grand Salon with its dome can be seen in the centre of the facade, fronted with a 2 storey portico. The chateau is built in Baroque style, with decoration by Charles Le Brun, 1619-90, and grounds designed by landscape architect Andre le Notre, 1613-1700.
