Day bed with blue fabric, 17th century, in Mme Fouquet's Sitting Room, originally a sitting room for Marie-Madeleine de Castille, then turned into a guest room in 1705, at the Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, designed by Louis Le Vau, 1612-70, and built 1658-61 for marquis Nicolas Fouquet, in Maincy, Seine-et-Marne, France. The chateau is built in Baroque style, with decoration by Charles Le Brun, 1619-90, and grounds designed by landscape architect Andre le Notre, 1613-1700.
