Entrance, built 1956, in the ramparts, with wide arched ramp, leading to the gardens, which were once planted with fig trees, trellises and olive trees, at the Palais des Rois de Majorque, or Palace of the Kings of Majorca, built 1276-1309 by Ramon Pau, Pons Descoll and Bernat Quer, for King James II of Majorca, in Puig del Rey, Perpignan, Pyrenees-Orientales, Catalogne du Nord, France. The fortified palace is in Late Romanesque and Gothic style and is built around 3 courtyards. It was fortified by Louis XI and renovated by Charles V and Vauban in the 15th and 17th centuries.
