Parts of an Armor for Use in the Tilt. French, c. 1550-1575. Detail. These are the remains of an extremely rare form of armor made in France during the mid-sixteenth century for use in the tilt. Only one armor fragment preserved in the Musée de l'Armée, Paris, compares with these pieces. Etched and partially gilded steel; brass; leather (replaced). Weight: 32.7 lb.
