Montfort Crusader castle, a stronghold of the Teutonic Knights in Palestine. Building began in 1226; after a brief siege by the forces of Mamluk sultan Baibars, Montfort surrendered in 1271. Baibars dismantled the fortress to prevents its reoccupation.
