Wig of human hair from Thebes,18th dynasty,1550-1300.
The wig was found in its original box. The curls are impregnated with a mixture of beeswax and resin. Each hair
was attached to the wig by twisting and then pressing back into the wax on the hair stem. The hair is lighter than the
pure black shown in Egyptian paintings. EA,2560
