In the course of his long career, Werner Forman has photographed cultural monuments and artifacts in 55 countries. This priceless archive is a highly valued resource of images for publishers throughout the world.

Holdings of the Werner Forman Archive include Islamic art from Egypt and the Middle East as well as Aegean, Greek, and Roman art. Also covered are arts of the Celts, Vikings, and Native North Americans, as well as material from Japan,India, Tibet, Indonesia, and Central America. Our researchers have prepared a lightbox containing a sampling of highlights from Werner Forman Archive.

Alexander the GreatKing Tut Exhibit Comes to USA

Twenty-six years ago, the first King Tut exhibition inaugurated the era of the museum "blockbuster". Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, opening at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art this June, ups the ante.

Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs will display treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb, as well as over 70 objects from other royal graves of the 18th dynasty.

Following is a small selection of photographs from our extensive archive of Egyptian images.
