Art Resource, in collaboration with the Scala Group of Florence, Italy, is delighted to announce that it has been named the exclusive agent for North American photo-rights of the collection of The Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA), the preeminent museum of modern and contemporary art. Inquiries for images and rights to reproduce the works housed in the museum will henceforth be fulfilled in North America directly by Art Resource. Scala will oversee, and fulfill, all other inquiries worldwide.

Founded in 1929, with the mission of making modern and contemporary art available to the public, the Museum of Modern Art was the first museum to devote its collection entirely to the modern movement. Starting with an initial bequest of but eight prints and one drawing, it has grown to include more than 100,000 works in a variety of media. Every major figure in the history of art since the late nineteenth century is represented, often by their own groundbreaking and iconic works, among them Van Gogh's Starry Night, Picasso's Les Desmoiselles d'Avignon, Matisse's The Red Studio, Chagall's I and the Village, Dali's Persistence of Memory, and Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie.
