Following the recent war in Iraq, museum officials and curators have
documented approximately 3,000 items as stolen or missing. While the
losses may not be as great as initially thought, they are still substantial
to the art world. Last week marked a positive breakthrough with the
unexpected return of the "Warka Vase" (see picture below).

Queen Nefertiti at Art Resource
Scientists in Egypt have announced that they have discovered what
they believe is the mummy of Queen Nefertiti (18th Dynasty), one of
the most beautiful and notable women of ancient Egypt. While some
experts will certainly dispute this discovery, we welcome you to view
her likeness on display in the Art Resource digital library.
