The LuEsther T. Mertz Library of The New York Botanical Garden
Art Resource is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as the official photo permissions representative for the The LuEsther T. Mertz Library of The New York Botanical Garden, housing one of the world’s premiere botanical and horticultural image archives. The library is particularly strong in the many aspects of horticulture and landscape design. The foundations of botanical science are well represented in early manuscripts and printed herbals since the Middle Ages. The 3,100-volume folio collection is notable for its holdings of fine 18th- and 19th-century botanical illustrations.
